Vivo releases micro-cloud platform technology, which makes mobile phone image stabilization stronger

In our mobile phone review, there is one link that is most easily perceived. That is the ability to take pictures at night, from simple picture brightness to the dark details good or bad, high-gloss suppression line, as well as the smudge, is not serious. A lot of the time, we see the difference in style, not the absolute quality of good or bad.

The flagship camera has to add an OIS optical image stabilization to the main camera. This is because, in night scene shooting, the rudest and effective way to improve the picture quality is to increase the exposure time. However, the negative effect of increasing the exposure time is that in hand-held photography, the photosensitive element may cause image blur due to handshake. This is where optical image stabilization comes into play. A camera equipped with optical image stabilization will offset the negative effect of a handshake on imaging to a certain extent.

However, optical stabilization is also unlimited. If you shake like a light stick, no one can prevent it, and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk also can not prevent to capture in your Vivo X50 phone.

To further enhance the anti-shake ability of mobile phones, Vivo today released a technology called micro-cloud. As the name implies, this technology is actually to reduce the gimbal in the field of camera and put it on the mobile phone, so it is called “micro gimbal”.

The most striking of course is the huge master camera, the X50 is the first mass-produced phone equipped with micro-cloud platform technology. The so-called one inch long and one inch strong, mobile phone photography is often a purely physical competition.

Camera Structure is Quite Complicated

Shrinking the gimbal into the mobile phone is not a simple matter, because its structure is quite complicated, including limit mechanism, double ball suspension, lens, voice coil motor, double S-type FPC cable, T-FPC, Magnetic power frame, and protective cover. The overall area is about 5 times the average area of the main camera and 3.2 times the periscope camera.

Vivo Introduce PTZ technology

At the same time, to meet the new structure, material tolerance control also needs to be upgraded to a new standard. For example, in the magnetic frame, the material tolerance is nearly doubled from the industry’s common ±0.05mm, and the multi-angle three-dimensional design of the shrapnel also increases the manufacturing process difficulty and processing accuracy.

In the end, the anti-shake angle of the micro-cloud platform reached more than plus or minus 3°, which is 300% of the traditional OIS optical anti-shake.

Sometimes even if the optical image stabilization is successfully imaged, the relative displacement inside the module during the image stabilization movement will cause loss of edge image quality.

However, the PTZ technology also solves this problem, because it achieves 100% overall anti-shake of the module. Also, with the support of the anti-shake of the PTZ, the main lens has a larger rotation angle, and the anti-shake area it has also reached 3.2 times of the OIS optical image stabilization mobile phone.

Vivo X50 Camera has better sensitivity performance

Vivo X50

Vivo X50 camera based on the “X-axis rotation + Y-axis rotation” micro gimbal image stabilization, combined with the “X-axis translation + Y-axis translation + Z-axis rotation” electronic image stabilization, the two combined to achieve “X/Y/ “YAW/PITCH/ROLL 5-axis video stabilization” effect.

With the sports focus tracking function, it can also be competent for some sports scenes. At the same time, Vivo also said that thanks to the characteristics of the micro platform, the X50Pro’s main camera has better sensitivity performance, which is 39% higher than the X30 Pro; some handheld scenes have 220% higher sensitivity than the X30 Pro.
